Jacob and the Ghost Train is an americana chamber-folk band based in the Santa Cruz Mountains of CA.  Jacob Martin, the band's lead singer, songwriter, and guitarist, originally hails from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. After several years of training and performing as an actor, Jacob relocated to the redwoods of Loma Mar to pursue a job as an environmental educator.  While there, he led hikes, taught science, and met his future band mates: Joshua Stacy (cello), Emilie Lygren (piano), and Maranda Duval (vocals and percussion).  From their very first rehearsal together, the group knew they had created something special.  With roots in Appalachian and classical traditions,  Jacob and the Ghost Train captivates audiences with their storytelling lyrics, soaring harmonies, and skillful instrumentals.  Since forming their band in January 2015, they have performed at numerous venues around the Bay Area, including listening rooms, farmers' markets, community events, house parties, breweries, and a wine label release concert in Big Sur.
